1. The dichotomy of control
"The chief task in life is focusing on what we control," Epictetus said. How much easier would our lives be if we weren't bothered by things over which we had no control?
2. The other handle
"Each event has two handles," Epictetus stated. If we're stuck in traffic, we can either punch the air or listen to that podcast for a little longer. We could either punch the air or see this as an opportunity to practice patience. When one handle isn't working, drop it and grab the other.
3. Carpe diem
"As each new day arrives, greet it as the best day yet and claim it as your own. What flees must be captured." Seneca says. All we've got is today. Seizing the day is the only way to achieve our lofty goals. We must concentrate on what we can do right now. Greatness is created through conquering every day for a long period of time. Moii Coffee lives by this motto because Moii means "to conquer" in the Oromo language.
MOII THE DAY!
